Image Restore AI
Issues
Image Restore AI is a desktop application (Windows/macOS) for photographers and content creators that is designed to restore certain degradations on images by using custom-made, advanced AI models.
It's designed to provide natural, photoreal results, avoiding the plastic-like, AI-look.
Currently, Image Restore AI supports the following operations:
Superscale (Upscale Images up to 8X)
Decompress (Remove JPG compression artifacts)
Denoise (Clean up sensor noise from high-iso shots)
Image Restore AI is designed to work 100% locally and offline. All our models are executed locally, so that you never have to worry about data safety and privacy.
No, Image Restore AI does not currently offer such functionality.
While it can help in removing any compression artifacts, if present, it lacks the appropriate models to erase scratches, dust, discoloration etc, which are common degradations in such scanned images.
Yes, anyone can simply download Image Restore AI and evaluate it's capabilities on their photos without any time limits (image exporting and batch processing will be disabled).
We highly encourage people to do so before purchasing, to ensure smooth operation.
Yes, all updates to Image Restore AI will be free of charge.
For transparency, if there will ever be the need for a new product version (e.g. IRAI 2), then that will be considered a new product and thus, a separate purchase, with a generous discount of course for existing users.
This is not something that is planned for the near future though, all our resources are currently dedicated into developing and perfecting the existing release.
Image Restore AI is designed to work with all known image types, including RAW images.
Our models have been carefully engineered to work both on 8-bit and 12-16 bit RAW image data.
Image Restore AI will work with any typical image format without any issues.
RAW Images are handled by LibRAW, you may find a complete list of supported cameras here: https://www.libraw.org/supported-cameras
Image Restore AI will be constantly updated to support every new camera that gets added to LibRAW's supported list.
If your camera is not in the supported list, you can use the Adobe DNG Converter to convert your files into DNG, and then process them in IRAI.
No, Image Restore AI is designed to work alongside such tools and provide solutions for challenging situations that can't be handled effectively by such tools, like superscale, decompress, and denoise, all which require sophisticated deep learning models to work properly and provide satisfactory results.
While we offer some post processing options for convenience and simple edits, with more to come in the future, this is not the focus of the application, and it shouldn't be used or purchased as a photo editor.
Yes, Image Restore AI can work both as a standalone App and as a plugin for Adobe Lightroom Classic.
Yes, Image Restore AI can detect and automatically correct lens distortion on supported lenses.
Yes, Image Restore AI does support 16-Bit DNG Exports. You can use IRAI as a pre-processor for your RAW files.
