Introducing Neuralmoon Photon

This major update introduces Neuralmoon Photon - 1.20.0, the new name and identity of Image Restore AI, alongside significant performance, quality and user experience improvements. Neuralmoon Photon is the next evolution of Image Restore AI (IRAI), so versioning continues from the previous release. All existing IRAI licenses have been transferred automatically and remain valid with Neuralmoon Photon.



Neuralmoon Photon


  • Image Restore AI is now Neuralmoon Photon, with a fresh name and a new visual identity.

  • Existing IRAI licenses have been transferred automatically to Neuralmoon Photon. Your existing IRAI product key remains the same for Neuralmoon Photon.

  • The version history continues uninterrupted, as Neuralmoon Photon is the next evolution of the same application.



Linux Support

  • Neuralmoon Photon is now also available for Linux.

  • Official support is limited to Ubuntu 26.04 and newer, though the app will mostly likely work on any distribution with glibc 2.35+.



Free Tier


Neuralmoon Photon now also offers a free tier:


  • Access to every AI model.

  • JPEG image exports.

  • Exports up to 20 megapixels.



User Interface

  • Updated user interface (UI) for a fresh new identity and improved visuals

  • Refined interactions and layouts for a smoother, more intuitive user experience.

  • New controls for image rotation and flipping.

  • Holding the F key now displays a false-color overlay to easily monitor clipped shadows and highlights.



AI Models

  • Upgraded to v1.10.0.

  • Redesigned architecture trained on updated, more sophisticated datasets.

  • Substantial improvements to image quality and consistency.



AI Engine

  • Optimized for better performance and faster processing.

  • Improved image quality, fidelity and consistency.



Post-Processing Engine

  • Upgraded with major performance and efficiency improvements.

  • Now also includes RGB curves and vibrance controls.

  • Now offers a Smart Preview, so changes appear immediately when interacting with a slider



Note

If you encounter any issues during an update, you can simply download the latest installer and perform a clean install.
